Inspired by the republished book, Ce que vaut une femme: traité d’éducation morale et pratique des jeunes filles dating from 1893, the new series by the duo Elsa & Johanna tells us in monochrome the stories of women from another time. To do this, the two photographers have embodied twenty-four types of women. What a woman is worth: the twelve hours of day and night lists a panel of women in the confines of the home, freed from their alienating roles.
