MENTORING DES FILLES DE LA PHOTO

THE CAREER ACCELERATOR FOR WOMEN PHOTOGRAPHERS
1ST EDITION 2020-2021 OF THE MENTORING PROGRAM DEDICATED TO WOMEN PHOTOGRAPHERS. 

The Observatoire de la Mixité, whose report was released last February, highlighted the disparity that exists between men and women photographers on their path to recognition. In response to this observation, Les Filles de la Photo are launching this mentoring program as a career accelerator dedicated to women photographers with the aim of supporting them in the realization of their projects and the development of their careers.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
The call for projects will be open until midnight on July 19, 2020 on the Filles de la Photo website. It is open to all professional women photographers based in France, with no age limit, who wish to be accompanied on a current project and their career path. A jury composed of 10 sponsors, experts of the Filles de la Photo and representatives of the various professions of photography will select 5 finalists. The 5 photographers will benefit for 10 months from the network, methodologies and resources of the association and will be followed by their pair of godmothers throughout the programme.

CALENDAR 2020-2021
May 4: Opening of the call for projects
July 19: End of the call for projects
16 September: Announcement and presentation of the 5 laureates
September – July: Mentoring lasts 10 months, with one appointment per month with the photographer and her mentor pair.
July 2021: Restitution of the 5 projects at the Rencontres d’Arles at the end of the mentoring programme.

– the general portfolio, in PDF version ( 20 images max., 10 Mo max., 300dpi)
– a selection of images of the current job, in PDF version (20 images max., 10 MB max., 300dpi)
– a biography/course of the photographer, in PDF (1 page max.)

The Daughters of Photography Mentorship includes :
– A free personalized accompaniment of the artistic or professional project
– Regular follow-up by a pair of godmothers for 10 months.
– Putting you in touch with professionals
– Visibility with art market professionals and commissioning professionals
– An evening of restitution at the Rencontres d’Arles to close the mentoring programme.
