the exhibition Civis Maritimus 1ère vague invited four young artists to take a step aside from our conventional perception of the marine environment.

The winners of the Ronan Guillou Grants 2023 Aliki Christoforou and Charles Thiefaine presented the results of their residency in Sète. With the series “Les particules, conte humain d’une eau qui meurt”, Manon Lanjouère offered us a poetic and photographic manifesto in favor of ocean preservation. Alice Pallot confronted us with the environmental and health issues of green algae in a photographic series that takes the beaches of the Baie de Saint-Brieuc and surrounding area as its creative space, in winter. She also unveiled a second part of her series.

On this occasion, the two winners of the Ronan Guillou 2024 Scholarships were presented: Chiara Indelicato and Cécile Smetana, who will be in residence in Sète in May and June 2023 to carry out their projects associating human beings and the marine world.
