After this period of lockdown during which all cultural institutions and events have been at a standstill, Art Paris, the annual event dedicated to modern and contemporary art launches from September 9 to 12, 2021, the art fair season at the Grand Palais Ephémère.

A major event for modern and contemporary art, the 23rd edition brings together 140 modern and contemporary art galleries from some twenty countries, mainly from Europe, but also from more distant shores such as Korea, Colombia, the Ivory Coast, Guatemala and Uruguay. Both regional and cosmopolitan, the 2021 edition, which has 40% new participants on site, is distinguished by the arrival or return of high-profile galleries such as Almine Rech, Art: Concept, Continua, frank elbaz, Jeanne Bucher Jaeger, MASSIMODECARLO, Lelong & Co, Kamel Mennour, Perrotin or Ropac, who join the faithful such as Nathalie Obadia, Lahumière, Templon. These prestigious galleries are alongside “author galleries” such as Martine Aboucaya, Jean Fournier, Suzanne Tarasieve, Anne-Sarah Bénichou and Vincent Sator, and emerging names such as Derouillon, Galerie Pact, Stems and Marguo.

Oriented towards discovery or rediscovery, Art Paris encourages the presentation of monographic exhibitions while supporting young galleries and emerging creation within the “Promesses” sector, which brings together around ten exhibitors.
