Leah Desmousseaux, is the winner of the Art Students Week 2018 competition
The 3rd edition of Art Students Week rewards Leah Desmousseaux, 23 y.o, student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Nantes, and Maëva Acolatsé, 25 y.o, of Ghanaian origin, student in Brussels at the Académie Royal Fine Arts. The first artistic contest on Instagram took place from 12 to 25 November 2018. Open to the international, it mobilised 546 students on the theme of “Peace and Wall”.
Leah Desmousseaux has been rewarded for her shaded images and their mise en abime on her Instagram wall. “It is by surveying museums of antiquities, archaeological and geological sites, that I take the material of my images,” said the photographer from Nantes, recently introduced on the social network. By the commitment to make known young artists discovered on Instagram, Leah Desmousseaux will benefit this summer from an exhibition at the gallery Françoise Livinec – The School of Girls in Huelgoat in Brittany. Also from a two-month artist residency with Renting Art, partner of Art Students Week, and from a presentation on the site of the National Center of Plastic Arts, the One Arty Minute platform, and the magazine dedicated to contemporary photography The Eyes.
