THE EYES #12 / B-SIDE EST DISPONIBLE !

27/10/2021

WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE JOURNAL THE EYES #12 / B-SIDE IS FINALLY AVAILABLE!

For this new issue, The Eyes invites its readers to a visual exploration of what it means to be Afropean, a notion expertly curated by our guest curator Johny Pitts, British photographer and author.

Singular historical and contemporary photographs (Eddie Otchere, James Barnor, Jazz Grant, Mohamed Bourouissa…), seminal books (Liz Johnson Artur, Paris bout du monde, Biso Bana Ya Poto… ), pioneering magazines (10 years of Trace, Revue Noire…) and committed texts (Johny Pitts, Marie Daulne, Minna Salami…) will explore the diversity of black identities as they are lived in Europe (Afrodescendants and Caribbean identity).

Entitled B-Side, this issue is strongly inspired by music, the field that gave birth to the term Afropean. B-Side is also an opportunity to take an offbeat approach and look at the B-side, the one we don’t hear much and see most often in a marginal way.

And again, a big thank you to all the artists and authors who agreed to participate in this collective adventure!
