The Eyes editorial team is very pleased to announce that Laia Abril,  Spanish photographer and author will be the next guest curator of the journal.

Laia Abril (1986) is a research-based artist working with photography, text, video and sound. After graduating from college with a degree in Journalism she moved to New York to focus on photography where she decided to start telling intimate stories that raise uneasy and hidden realities related with sexuality, eating disorders and gender equality.

Faithful with its interest in the photographic representation of societal issues, the next issue of The Eyes will focus on the ways, methods and positions of photographers who question the most traumatic chapters of our individual and collective histories.  

Through the nation of ‘after care’ Laia Abril will explore the place and role of ethics and vulnerability in the making of visual projects.
