A major actor in modern and contemporary art publishing

Since its opening, the Pompidou Centre has been displaying photography in its permanent collections among paintings and installations, and has organized temporary exhibitions such as the Henri Cartier-Bresson retrospective in 2014. It recently decided to add to this a new gallery dedicated to photography. It is located in a no man’s land, aka the lower level. While the space seems somewhat limited for the display of one of Europe’s most important collections, the project should be welcomed. The Centre’s bookshop also deserves a visit, especially during sales periods to take advantage of bargains.
