S’ENFORÊSTER: they didn’t know it was possible, so they did it
This sixth episode of The Eyes Talks welcomes Andréa Olga Mantovani, photographer and committed visual artist. Together we discussed her career and her book “S’enforêster”, published by D’une Rive à l’Autre.
With a background in geography, Andrea Olga Mantovani has been exploring the links between landscapes, memory and ecological issues for several years. For six years, she has traveled the globe, exploring the relationship between humans and their environment through documentary and artistic approaches.
S’ENFORÊSTER
S’enforêster focuses on saving the last primary forests in Eastern Europe.
It’s a poetic and political book born of the encounter between a photographer, a philosopher and a forest. Nourished by the forest of Białowieża, Andrea Olga Mantovani and Baptiste Morizot have combined their gazes to weave the myth of the forest of origins.
“S’enforêster is a transformative experience. There’s a before and an after.”
Andréa Olga Mantovani
“I had to find something special about this forest to tell its story, because every place has its own story.”
Andréa Olga Mantovani
